The Little Bird Teacher

The Little Bird Teacher

I heard a thud on the window this morning. It woke me up, so I got out of bed and went outside to find the smallest bird lying on his back. He had struck the window while in flight and was now dying. I kneeled down next to him and as I have done many times before with these little creatures, I sent healing energy and love to him through my heart and hands. His body shook quietly for one last time and then he began his departure into the light, his eyes widening as his tiny bird spirit left his body.

What a sacred moment. How sad and beautiful it was to witness this…

I am again reminded of how we are all here for a brief moment and will all again return to our spiritual essence leaving our bodies behind.

Someone told me once that dying is like diving into a beautiful pool of healing water where you leave your body behind as though you were diving out of your clothes.

I believe these small encounters like this morning can teach us all how to let go and love. Life and death is happening all around us everyday, we just need to slow down to fully experience them with our hearts and experience the truth in these moments for ourselves.

Thank you for reading. I hope that this story brings something beautiful to your day.

Thank you for teaching me little bird…

With Love,

Lauren
